The 1 in 3 Campaign takes its name from the reality that 1 in 3 women in the United States will have an abortion in her lifetime. The campaign aims to de-stigmatize abortion by creating a new dialogue that puts people at the center of the conversation about abortion rights and access.
About the Program
COLORado 1in3 Youth Leadership Council recruits student activists ages 18-24 who conduct outreach on college campuses to collect stories of individuals who have faced stigma, judgment and shame for considering or seeking abortion care. In the U.S. one out of three women will have an abortion in her lifetime, and real stories are shifting narratives and can influence policy. Council members are essential to de-stigmatization efforts and story collection foster healing and empowerment.
