Esta \u00faltima parte depende de aspectos que no siempre consideramos relacionados con la reproducci\u00f3n, como la financiaci\u00f3n estatal de las escuelas, la sanidad y el cuidado infantil. Y esa financiaci\u00f3n, a su vez, depende de la equidad de nuestros impuestos.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En muchos estados, el sistema tributario es plano o casi plano. Un maestro o una enfermera pueden terminar pagando casi la misma tasa que un millonario o una gran corporaci\u00f3n. Esto no es justo y es una de las principales razones por las que las escuelas siguen recibiendo fondos insuficientes, el cuidado infantil es cada vez m\u00e1s caro y los costos de la atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica siguen aumentando para las familias trabajadoras, mientras que los m\u00e1s ricos apenas lo notan.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cuando los sistemas tributarios exigen a los hogares m\u00e1s ricos y a las grandes corporaciones que paguen lo que les corresponde, esos ingresos pueden destinarse a las necesidades reales de las familias: escuelas con financiaci\u00f3n suficiente, atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica accesible y guarder\u00edas asequibles. No se trata de cuestiones secundarias, sino de las condiciones necesarias para criar a los hijos como uno desea.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Piensen en los cambios que se producen cuando el cuidado infantil es asequible y las escuelas reciben financiaci\u00f3n. Las familias tienen m\u00e1s libertad para decidir cu\u00e1ndo y si quieren tener m\u00e1s hijos, y mayor capacidad para criarlos sin verse presionadas constantemente.
