COLORADO'S GENERAL ELECTION IS NOVEMBER 3, 2026
About the General Election
The general election is when voters choose who actually holds office. In the general, voters choose between candidates from different parties who are all running for the same seat. Ballot initiatives will also be on the ballot this year, which are questions that show up on your ballot, either for local or statewide votes.
When we participate, we help ensure decision-makers who understand and respond to the needs of our communities are elected and fair legislation is implemented.

Let's talk Amendments and Propositions
An initiated constitutional amendment is a citizen-initiated ballot measure that amends a state’s constitution.
Constitutional amendments take a lot of work to get on the ballot, but it’s for a good reason. This means that it is also harder to change later, which is what makes its protection stronger and more enduring than a statute.
- Amendment 81: Law Enforcement Reporting Requirements to Federal Authorities
- Amendment 82: Right to Natural Gas
- Amendment 83: Constitutional Right to Hunt and Fish
- Amendment 84: Mail Ballot Voter Identification
- Amendment 85: Plain Language Ballot Questions
- Amendment 86: Congressional Redistricting
- Amendment 87: Graduated Income Tax
A state initiated statutory proposition is a citizen-initiated ballot measure that amends state statute, which is a formal written law passed by a state’s legislative branch and signed into law by its governor.
Statutes give authority to rules and regulations in other government bodies, which make statutes an effective means of protecting and strengthening rights.
- Proposition NN: State Public K-12 Education Funding
- The only legislatively referred measure to be considered by voters this year.
- Proposition 132: Penalties for Fentanyl Crimes
- Proposition 133: Penalties for Human Trafficking of a Minor
- Proposition 134: Male and Female Participation in School Sports
- Proposition 135: Prohibit Certain Surgeries on Minors
- Proposition 136: Income Tax Rate Cap
- Proposition 137: Designate Sporting Goods Sales Tax Revenue for Conservation

Bring your family and loved ones and join us in the spirit of Día de Muertos and Vote Early Day for an evening of food, treats, music, lotería, and conversations about the power we hold in our communities and at the ballot box. Whether you bring your ballot, have questions about voting, or simply want to spend time in community, you’ll have space to connect, reflect, and make a plan to vote early.
Throughout the evening, we’ll celebrate the ways our power lives on through our families, our communities, and the choices we make for future generations. Guests of all ages will also have an opportunity to honor an ancestor, mentor, loved one, or future generation and reflect on what it means to carry their power forward.
Come with your family, bring your people, and join us for food, music, stories, and community, and leave reminded that nuestro poder nunca muere.
